Xtra Happy Castlemania is a perplexing album; the mix of upbeat tempos and the jangly guitars on the surface is nice and cheery, but the subjects of the songs and the odd patches of keys and horns prove......discordant.

It reminds me best of a Cheshire Cat's grin; it means well, but something about it gets under your skin. 'The Horse Was Lost' feels appropriate as the final track in this sense; its like when the mask finally slips and the true disturbing nature of what lies underneath is briefly revealed. Favorite track: Spider Cider.
